“STUDENT ARRESTED FOR CUTTING FOOD WITH KNIFE”
was the headline of a recent story on Orlando Florida’s News Channel 6.

It all started, police said, when school officials spotted a 10-year-old student at the Sunrise Elementary School, cutting her food with a knife during lunch.

After the suspect told sheriff’s deputies that this was not the only time she had brought the knife to school, she was charged with weapons possession, which is a felony. She was then arrested and taken to the Juvenile Assessment Center.

The same type of “Accuracy Crisis” exists in the main stream media and among journalists, just as it does in academia.
