The energy was high at the Saturday sessions of the Defending the American Dream Summit, hosted by the Americans for Prosperity (AFP) Foundation on October 3, 2009.  An estimated 2,000 people attended the summit, including delegates from a full twenty-five states.

“Good morning, community organizers!” AFP president Tim Phillips greeted the crowd.

Speakers at the summit included:

  • Newt Gingrich,
  • Shona Holmes,
  • Steve Moore,
  • Sen. Jim Demint (R-South Carol.),
  • Herman Cain,
  • Dallas Woodhouse,
  • Hugh Hewitt,
  • Ed Morrisey,
  • John Fund, and
  • Tracy Walsh.

There were also numerous panels at the summit, including grassroots training on affecting legislators and Free Market Victory Abroad.
