Fossil Fuel Divestment Fever

Youth, like age, hath its privileges and one of them seems to be the right to not think too far ahead. And if they are in college, they are not likely to be surrounded by mentors who will urge them to cogitate beyond the immediate
“One week after 40,000 people marched in Washington, DC calling for national climate action, over 200 students are expected to converge at Swarthmore College for the first-ever national Fossil Fuel Divestment convergence,” a press release from Swarthmore excitedly announces. “Students at over 250 colleges and universities across the country have already joined the growing campaign calling for divestment from the fossil fuel industry.” They plan on meeting tomorrow, George Washington’s birthday.
Perhaps the young rebels can persuade their parents to divest the fossil fuels that heat the basements they are very likely to soon be living in.
