Free Pizza & Free Debate
Posted By Accuracy in Academia On June 7, 2012 @ 9:32 am In News | No Comments
Washington, D. C.—There will be two fairly unprecedented left/right debates taking place in June, both on the same day and one of which comes with free food.
On June 14, 2012, John K. Wilson of the American Association of University Professors (AAUP) will debate Mal Kline of Accuracy in Academia (AIA) on the question of whether colleges and universities are biased to the Left. The two will face off in a panel at the AAUP’s annual convention at the Mayflower Hotel from 3-5 PM. They will then do a replay of their encounter at AIA’s author’s night that evening from 6-8 PM at the Heritage Foundation.
“Frequently do critics of academia charge that denizens of academe offer few unbiased courses,” Kline points out. “Nearly as often, academics and the associations they belong to dismiss those claims.”
“ Rarely do they talk to each other.” Conservative speakers address the liberal-leaning AAUP about as infrequently as Left-of-Center lecturers make appearances at AIA events. Complementary food and beverages will be provided at the AIA event which will take place in the Van Andel Center at Heritage.
