Our sister organization, Accuracy in Media, is celebrating its 40th anniversary on Friday, Oct. 23, 2009, with a day-long conference at the Omni-Shoreham in Washington, D. C.. Four, and even three, decades ago, AIM’s founder, Reed Irvine, was battling media bias singlehandedly. Arguably, talk radio, Fox News and even the blogoshere are among his descendants. Appropriately, the theme of the conference is new media. You can register for it at www.aim.org.

The same type of “Accuracy Crisis” exists in the main stream media and among journalists, just as it does in academia.
