Pro-Choice Fascism

Most liberals proudly declare themselves to be “pro-choice.”  In truth, this is a myth—a myth that should be put to rest once and for all.  The truth is most liberals are only pro-choice if you agree with the choices they want you to make.  However, if one has the audacity to say no to some part of the liberal agenda, they then insist that a paternalistic, omnipresent  government step in and make your choices for you—like it or not.  While America was founded on the core belief of individual liberty, their motto is essentially, “Government Knows Best.” Sure, they might be in favor of choice when it comes to abortion and gay-marriage, but the list ends there.

A prime example of this hypocrisy comes by way of New York City Mayor Michael R. Bloomberg.  Bloomberg, a “pro-choice” liberal, believes he, not you, should decide how to best raise your children. Bloomberg’s  Department of Education will now mandate that sex education be taught in the public schools and your kids will have to take the class—like it or not.  Under the new plan, children will be forced to receive graphic sex education that includes discussions on such topics as mutual masturbation and different sexual positions.  Your kids will also be directed to check out a graphic website called, “Go Ask Alice,” in which they can also learn about pornography, bestiality, and sadomasochism.

The fact that schools teach a course on sex education is not the issue. Perhaps some parents are uncomfortable talking to their kids about sex and would be happy to let someone else do it for them. The issue here is all about one thing, force.  Liberals like Bloomberg believe they know what’s best for you and your kids and if you disagree, too bad.   They believe in an all-powerful, paternalistic government in which your “right to choose” is strictly limited by the government’s power to dictate how you raise your kids and live your life.  Let’s be clear, Bloomberg’s attitude is the attitude of a fascist.  The government gets to raise your kids for you and to indoctrinate them as they see fit. The government knows best.   You are to just sit back, shut-up, and do as you are told.

This mentality is not just limited to Bloomberg.  President Obama, like most liberals, shares this fascist mentality.  He believes the government should be allowed to force you to purchase health insurance, like it or not.  Under his health care law, President Obama has also tried to force all institutions, even those affiliated with the Catholic Church,   to provide birth control and sterilization services.  This is an assault on religious freedom and the right of the Catholic Church to uphold its moral teachings. But once we understand that radical liberals are not really pro-choice, that they are actually pro-fascism, this should come as no surprise.  What’s next? Perhaps Obama or Bloomberg will order us to purchase a health club membership?  Perhaps they will order us to attend this health club at least three times per week?  Perhaps they’ll insist that we not serve our kids red meat more than once a week?  Once we get comfortable giving up our freedom who knows where it will end? As John Adams once said, “Liberty, once lost, is lost forever.”

The Founding Fathers believed the individual, not the government, was sovereign.   They understood that government is only legitimate if it recognizes, upholds, and protects our God-given natural rights.  Extremist liberals like Bloomberg and Obama have it all reversed. They believe that government, not the individual, is sovereign. They don’t believe in God-given natural rights. They believe whatever rights we happen to have are only there because of the generosity of a paternalistic government.  Whether it comes to mandatory sex education, mandatory health insurance, or mandating the Catholic Church violate their moral teachings, it makes no difference.  Radical liberals believe the government should have the right and the power to tell us how to live our lives.  In short, their mentality is anything but pro-choice. It is anti-choice.  It is pro-fascism. It is big government authoritarianism stripping individuals of their natural rights. This election year it’s about time we tell liberals like Obama and his friends that unlike them we really do believe in choice—the choice to boot these clowns out of office.
