A graduate of a Savannah, Georgia college began a petition to change the name of a building on its campus, which is named after Supreme Court Justice Clarence Thomas. The college, the Savannah College of Art and Design, has a building named after the Supreme Court justice, “Clarence Thomas Center of Historic Preservation.” The justice is from the city of Savannah.

The reason behind the petition is to start a discussion about the treatment of women, as Thomas was accused of sexual harassment by Anita Hill during the time he was in the Supreme Court confirmation process. Hill’s accusations were investigated, but no evidence emerged, and Thomas was confirmed to the Supreme Court.
