Stars Align Against ISU Astronomy Prof

Academic persecution is claiming another victim at Iowa State University (ISU). Despite being one of the foremost astronomy professors in the
country, Dr. Guillermo Gonzalez has been denied tenure because of his views on intelligent design.

Although Gonzalez declines to articulate his
personal opinions in the classroom, school officials discriminated against what many consider one of their brightest scholars. ISU standards define
“excellence” as having published 15 peer-reviewed journal articles. Gonzalez has produced 68.

Join us in urging ISU President Gregory Geoffroy to
reconsider Dr. Gonzalez’s value both to the university–and to the scientific field. E-mail president@iastate.edu and ask him to honor excellence not political correctness.
