Megyn Kelly’s F-Bombs Don’t Hinder Her Success

Megyn Kelly, who initially rose to fame as a legal correspondent for Fox News with her sharp analysis and eventually hosted her own successful show on the network, became a lightning rod for many Trump supporting conservatives for her tough questioning of Trump during a 2015 presidential debate. She has always wanted to appear impartial, and during that debate she showed Trump no mercy. She later took her skills to NBC where she was reportedly paid between $15-$20 million a year to appear in a variety of projects/shows. But, she never found the same level of success that she did at Fox where the audience is decidedly more conservative than NBC’s.
Kelly could have just lived off her earnings from Fox and NBC, but since 2020 has become her own brand with The Megyn Kelly Show which has 3.7 million YouTube subscribers, over one million podcast downloads and generates an estimated $25 million per year and growing. While Kelly has a variety of guests on her show, there is no doubt that this is her show in the vein of the old O’Reilly Factor on Fox, but free from any government broadcast constraints.
My late son Spencer was a regular viewer of her show and I gave it a go for a while, but she lost me with her constant dropping of f-bombs and other swear words, which has seemingly increased from the time I started watching. I know there are some that think it’s funny or necessary, but for me, it’s neither. While I miss her insight, I feel better not being exposed to the steady stream of foul language. Just like many Hollywood movies, it only degrades the show. I know that I’m not alone as I have polled friends of mine who feel the same way, but for conservatives looking for an edgy voice to express their frustrations with the liberal and progressive nonsense she fills a void.
That reminds me, I need to unsubscribe from her YouTube channel.
