Academia Won’t Quit H8ing

The very people, professors, who tell us to be civil and tolerant may be the most uncivil and intolerant of us all. “The average parent, taxpayer and donor has absolutely no idea of the bizarre lessons that college professors are teaching students,” George Mason University economist Walter Williams writes.

“Professor Adam Kotsko of Shimer College teaches, ‘Whether or not your individual ancestors owned slaves, you as a white person have benefitted from slavery and are complicit in it.’ Dr. Micah Johnson, a research assistant and graduate student instructor in the University of Florida’s department of sociology and criminology and law, teaches that the American notion of patriotism is ‘drenched in whiteness’ and that patriotism implies that black people are ‘un-American.’”

Wonder if they started watching the NFL.

Mr. Williams, two examples do not a firestorm make. And the cheeky NFL reference does nothing to support your position except to further show your lack of academic acumen.

This may come as a shock, but the American notion of patriotism is drenched in whiteness, also elitism. For example, Jefferson attained his social position not through meritocracy, but by an accident of birth. “We hold these truths to be self-evident…” written, read, and signed by largely rich white males who had slaves. I suppose being slaves, they weren’t “men.”

I could go on, but I suspect it won’t change anything at your end, so I will leave with the above examples.
