Betsy DeVos: We’ll Return to Defending Rights of Accused in Sexual Assault Cases

, Accuracy in Academia, Leave a comment

Under the Obama administration, the Department of Education’s Office of Civil Rights (known by the acronym OCR) pushed higher education institutions to prosecute sexual assault and rape cases without due process. It is a rebuttal to the 2011 “Dear Colleague” letter, which allegedly institutionalized the avoidance of due process and prevalence of “kangaroo courts” (i.e. courts stacked against the accused) on college campuses.
