University of California-Berkeley announced it will allocate $800,000 to a financial aid program for illegal immigrant students. Currently, one of their students, Luis Mora, is detained by Immigration, Customs and Enforcement (ICE) agency after leaving the country and trying to re-enter without proper immigration paperwork.
The announcement came after students criticized the university for being stingy in defending Mora.
