Just In Time

A quote alternatively credited to both former President George H. W. Bush and comic auteur Woody Allen runs like this: “90 percent of life is just showing up.” While the latter is more likely to have said it, the former is more likely to have done it.

Nevertheless, by a happy coincidence, President Obama is doing at least as much in a state with a tightly contested Senate race. “As students begin their school year, President Barack Obama will deliver his second annual Back-to-School Speech at 1:00 p.m. EDT on Tuesday, September 14 at Julia R. Masterman Laboratory and Demonstration School in Philadelphia, PA, a 2010 National Blue Ribbon School,” the White House announced on September 9, 2010.  “The President’s Back-to-School Speech is an opportunity to speak directly to students across the country.”

“Last year, President Obama encouraged students to study hard, stay in school, and take responsibility for their education.” Maybe he can grab a cheesesteak on the way home.
