Per Inside Higher Ed, Coastal Carolina fell for two separate phishing scams and quickly found out they were out of $1 million. Phishing is when someone contacts an individual via e-mail and asks for bank account information, under the guise that the individual owes a payment to the scammer and makes it seem official.
