The University of Missouri-Kansas City hosted conservative commentator Michael Knowles, who works for Ben Shapiro’s Daily Wire online website, and a masked assailant attacked Knowles. Knowles’ topic was on gender identity and how biological men are not females.
The chancellor, Mauli Agrawal, issued a statement that praised those protesting Knowles’s speech while admitting “some others crossed a line.”
A Republican state senator from the state of Missouri, David Sater, said that Agrawal should resign over his statement that did not condemn the assault.
