To the University of Michigan, a fall 2019 course entitled, “the History of the American Right” will analyze the white supremacist movement, neo-Nazis, and their purported connection to the Donald Trump campaign. The course’s description said that today, there is “the need to recognize a far Right not as a foreign extremism outside the main currents of American life but rather as a long-running element of the American political tradition.”
