University of Minnesota Department: For Christmas Parties, Use Neutral Themes and Not Bows

Apparently, bows and wrappings are not neutral enough for one department at the University of Minnesota. The university’s College of Food, Agricultural, and Natural Resource Sciences (CFANS) sent a message to its faculty to avoid using bows and wrappings in Christmas-themed parties.

Instead, the department suggested calling Christmas parties “winter celebration” and not making music or food selections emphasized on “any one religion.”
