On May 22, 2018, the U. S. House of Representatives Government Reform and Oversight Committee examined the free speech crisis on college campuses. Since few universities do not receive federal funding, their interest is not inconsequential.
A team of researchers made an exhaustive search of movie reviews and found that the reviewers of them were overwhelmingly white and male: Perhaps it was more interesting research than watching the films themselves.
The good news is that students are not quite as ignorant of their constitutional rights as we’ve thought. The bad news is that most universities don’t want them to have any.
