$25 million for three years is not chump change, students: “The editorial board of The Daily Bruin, UCLA’s student newspaper, argued in an editorial Monday that the decision—announced last week by UC system President Janet Napolitano—is not an adequate long term solution because it is set to expire in 2019.”

A fraternity at the University of Wisconsin has been suspended over suspicions of tolerating racial slurs.

The College Fix has more on the subject: “For years, students at the University of California Santa Cruz have used the school’s bias reporting system to alert campus leaders that their feelings have been hurt or they have been called mean names by peers – complaints then probed by administrators.”

The College Fix reported, “University of Chicago student government representatives are more worried about a food fight with their constituents than the societal problem of mass incarceration.”

From the Campus Reform: “Professors are lashing out at Gov. Bruce Rauner’s (R) appointment of a part-time lecturer to represent faculty on the Illinois Board of Higher Education, complaining the choice is anti-union.”

Black Lives Matter activist Charles Wade “was arrested last month and charged with human trafficking and prostitution” according to the Washington Times. He asserts his innocence and denies any wrongdoing.

This is a serious story…being fined for not saying ‘ze’ or ‘hir,’ which are gender neutral pronouns.

As Campus Reform reported, “An open letter released Monday by 21 prominent law professors warns that the Department of Education’s sexual harassment directives are undermining both free speech and due process.”

From the College Fix: “A professor at the University of Kansas just coincidentally got blocked from continuing on the tenure track after students complained about a class discussion that they themselves provoked, Inside Higher Ed reports.”

Jonathan Butler received the award as a result of his efforts as the face of the Mizzou Black Lives Matter movement, despite some details of his past coming to light that do not paint him in a positive light.

From the College Fix: “The English Reading Room at California State University Northridge is undergoing a facelift in the name of diversity.”

A vice provost for the university sent an e-mail out blasting the upcoming appearance of the controversial speaker Milo Yiannopoulos, but an English instructor wondered why there was no similar outrage directed at an anti-Zionist week at the university.
