CNN’s Tapper Admits He Ignored Biden’s Cognitive Decline

CNN anchor Jake Tapper admitted this week that his coverage of former President Joe Biden’s cognitive decline was lacking helping to cement conservative criticism that the liberal media engaged in a cover-up to protect Biden until he dropped out of the presidential race..

Tapper appeared on CNN to flog his upcoming book with Axios reporter Alex Thompson “Original Sin: President Biden’s Decline, Its Cover-Up, and His Disastrous Choice to Run Again,” set to be released next week.

When asked what he thought of the conservative criticism of him and the rest of the media over their lack of coverage of Biden’s mental acuity Tapper responded that “I think some of the criticism is fair, to be honest, of me,”  adding “Certainly I’m not going to speak for anybody else, but knowing then what I know now, I look back at my coverage during the Biden years and I did cover some of these issues, but not enough. I look back on it with humility.”

One of the most egregious examples of the cover-up came after Special Counsel Robert Hur declined to bring charges against Biden in the classified documents case because he determined a jury would not convict someone perceived as an “elderly man with a poor memory,” based on his interview with investigators. Democrats argued that Hur was a partisan Republican and therefore his report would be biased against Biden which seemed to be enough for the media to ignore his comments.

In the end what Hur reported and what conservatives knew turned out to be largely true and now Tapper and Thompson are set to capitalize on the Biden decline that they helped cover up.
