At the University of Virginia, the student government did not approve the application of a conservative student group, Young Americans for Freedom (YAF). But, the disapproval was temporary, as the student government requested the student chapter change parts of their mission statement.
Yet, after the legal group Alliance Defending Freedom (ADF) and the student chapter sent a notice to the university administration as it was an alleged violation of the First Amendment. After that, the administration pressured the student government to drop their objections to the YAF’s mission statement.
