A study by the University of California-Los Angeles (UCLA) analyzed over 6,300 tweets and several speeches by President Donald Trump. The study, conducted by students in the César E. Chávez Department of Chicana and Chicano Studies, concluded that the president’s “language shows an anti-immigrant bias and ‘false narrative.'” The president, the students said, “used generalizations and loaded words to promote the idea that immigrants–particularly Latinos–are criminals, Mexico is an enemy, and that Trump will protect American citizens, who are victims of an invasion of criminal aliens.”

The study was used to support the current immigration policy known as Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals, or DACA.
