University of Minnesota Department Rescinds Christmas Guidelines

The University of Minnesota’s Department of College of Food, Agricultural, and Natural Resources Sciences had issued an internal e-mail counseling faculty members to not celebrate Christmas too overtly. Instead, the e-mail suggested ‘neutral’ themes and avoiding using phrases associated with Christmas.

Now, the university rescinded the internal department guidelines after outcry, issuing the following statement:

“We do not have such a policy, would never implement such a policy, and any representation otherwise is incorrect…”

“Again, the University of Minnesota does not have a Religious and Diversity Holiday policy and has no intention of introducing such a policy.”
