Accuracy in Academia is proud to announce that veteran journalist Cliff Kincaid will speak at the AIA author’s night on July 20, 2011. Kincaid has been affiliated with AIA’s sister organization—Accuracy in Media—for more than 30 years, as a reporter, writer and editor.

The author of several books, Kincaid has also represented AIM at shareholder meetings of media companies such as The Washington Post. Several of his articles are featured in AIM’s next special report, which will be showcased at the July 20, 2011 author’s night.

Entitled “Headlines and Breadlines: Reaganomics and Obamanomics in the Media and in Reality,” the AIM special report looks at how the New York Times and The Washington Post covered two epochal presidencies. The event is free for Capitol Hill and Washington, D. C. area interns.

AIM has covered every U. S. president since Richard Nixon. Thus, this special report will feature articles by AIM’s founder, Reed Irvine (1922-2004). As well, “Headlines and Breadlines” includes reports from Don Irvine, chairman of AIM, and Spencer Irvine, both of whom will make remarks at the July author’s night.

Free food, another AIA tradition, will also be on hand as will copies of the special report.

Although the event is free, we need a head count for planning purposes. To r.s.v.p., e-mail mal.kline@academia.org.
