They’re not afraid of being arrested but right now they’d rather remain incognito. “A group of 17 senior faculty – all at the full or endowed chair level – have sent a letter to UNC Chancellor Carol Folt demanding the University take down Silent Sam,” The Daily Tar Heel reported. “The group said if the University does not take down the Confederate monument before Thursday, they will do it themselves.”
No word yet on whether the event is BYOS–Bring Your Own Shoes, to hit the statue with as it is tumbling.
