Buena Vista U: Potentially Punishable Hate Speech

, Malcolm A. Kline, 1 Comment

Perhaps students in need of legal advice should go off campus to find it. “Buena Vista University insisted that hate speech is ‘potentially punishable under the law’ in a Monday letter to students,” Rob Shimshock reported in The Daily Caller on Tuesday. This guidance is reminiscent of the “double secret probation” Riff Randell was on in Rock and Roll High School.

I think the concept of “double secret probation”was first promulgated by Dean Vernon Wormer in Animal House (1978).

Either that, or it was introduced in the Code of Hammurabi (1800 BC).

    I’m not exactly sure.
