Professor: U.S. Constitution ‘was Designed to Entrench Slavery’

, Accuracy in Academia, 2 Comments

Professor Gerald Horne, at the University of Houston, wrote a piece on the U.S. history knowledge of black Americans. In the piece, he claimed that the U.S. Constitution “invented this national myth that the constitution, which was designed to entrench slavery and white supremacy forevermore, was somehow flexible enough to encompass the rest of us.”

Is the “professor” saying that Article V of the Constitution doesn’t allow flexibility? Also, didn’t the 3/5th rule limit the power of the slave States? Which constitution does the “professor” favor, the Soviet one?
