Professors who Share Similar Names to Confederate Leaders Mock ESPN’s Decision

ESPN, a sports network, reassigned Asian broadcaster Robert Lee from a football game broadcast a couple weeks ago because he shared the same name as former Confederate General Robert E. Lee. He was scheduled to call the game between the University of Virginia against William & Mary in Charlottesville, Virginia. The decision was due to violence in Charlottesville, where one woman was killed, over a statue of Robert E. Lee.

The College Fix e-mailed professors who shared similar names to Confederate leaders, such as Thomas Jackson and Robert Lee, and many of them mocked ESPN’s decision to pull an Asian broadcaster from a game.
