The University of California-Davis’s Humanities Institute is researching the issue of “racial capitalism,” but has yet to arrive on a definition on what it means. It is a multi-year study and is funded by the Andrew W. Mellon Foundation. As a part of the foundation’s funding, the university receives a “a generous multi-year funding package that supports a two-year postdoctoral fellow, three years of event programming, and recruitment and research awards for graduate students”.
It has been ongoing since the fall of 2017, but this year is apparently the year where all efforts will be focused in studying “racial capitalism.”
