The flag of the state of Mississippi isn’t flown at any of the eight public universities in the state because it has the Dixie flag (i.e. Confederate battle flag) in the left corner. State lawmakers have a bill that could incentivize the universities to fly the flag on their campuses in return for a tax exemption.
