Students from the Middle East and India blamed the ‘travel ban’ from the Trump administration as a deterrent to applying to American colleges and universities. But, the survey also noted that potential students cite the issues with obtaining a visa, even from countries such as India, as a major deterrent to applying for enrollment in the U.S.

Also, it is interesting to note that Saudi Arabia has decreased its foreign scholarship funding, which has led to a drop in enrollment in the U.S. since the fall of 2016.
